Better Analysis During Procedure, Not After
Real-Time Measurements Of Your Eye
With traditional cataracts procedures, your doctor may have to wait weeks or even months after the surgery to determine the accuracy of the procedure. With the CataLāze™ Refractive Suite, we are able to assess the quality of your vision during the procedure. This real-time feedback leads to substantially better outcomes for your vision.
Faster & Blade-Free
Less Inflammation, Quicker Recovery Time
Our blade-free CataLāze™ laser surgery makes more precise incisions and breaks up the cataract at faster speeds than traditional methods. This minimizes the risk of post-operative inflammation.
The LenSx® Laser
This technology used during CataLaze Cataract Surgery uses a pulsing laser and custimzed mapping of each patient’s eyes to deliver the most accurate results. Accuracy, precision, and customization are the greatest advantages to having this technology in our surgical suite.

Ora System with VerifEye
The Ora System assists during surgery by presenting the best strategy for intraocular lens power and astigmatism correction. It can identify if the eye is unfocused during surgery and needs to be refocused offering better results to patients. It’s Wavefront Technology is also able to identify imperfection in the eye that can then be used to complete the procedure in a more customized fashion for best results.
- Better Results –An improved outcome of the
- Increased Precision –This guided accuracy will help to reduce the potential of necessary glasses after the procedure.
Verion™ Reference Unit
The Verion™ Reference Unit improves consistency and control during cataract surgery by providing the best in pre-operative technology. This system cuts back on biometry, transcription, manual marking, and IOL positioning errors. This results in more efficient and effective results for patients.
While used for both pre-op and intra-op procedures, the Verion™ Reference Unit is used during diagnosis and preparation for better imaging and planning.
Why We Use the Verion™ Reference Unit
- Accurate – Captures high-resolution image of patient’s eye for preoperative planning.
- Precise – Helps ensure precise position of incisions even in the case of eye movement and rotation with real time eye movement and cyclorotation tracking.
- Efficient – Eliminates the need for manual eye marking.
LuxOR™ Ophthalmic Microscope
This technology helps for better visualization during the CataLaze Cataract Surgery procedure. It uses illumincation technology and comprehensive visualization to provide a more accurate and precise performance. Use of the LuxOR Ophthalmic Microscope seamlessly integrated with other technologies used during this cataract procedure, boosting productivity in the surgery environment.
The red reflex zone and unfocused light used by this microscope vaslty improve the surgeon experience by allowing for better visual. This directly effects the precision and accuracy for patients.
Why We Use the LuxOR™ Ophthalmic Microscope
- Accurate – This microscope has a greater depth of focus
- Illumination Technology – Helps improve visual for procedure.
- Improved Red Reflex Zone – The red reflex zone of this miscrope is six-time larger than those of competing models.
CENTURION® Vision System
The CENTURION Vision System helps to improve precision and boost accuracy during the CataLaze Cataract Surgery by increasing visualization using updated technology. Chamber stability is optimized from the Active Fluidics technology within this vision system. The optimized stability coupled with the system’s design toward efficiency help to improve the patient’s overall experience.
Why we’ve invested in the CENTURION Vision System:
- Efficient –The technology within this system is designed for smooth precision and responsiveness. Helping opthalmologist achieve their desired results.
- Optimizes Stability –Active fluidics helps to improve doctor control and optimizes stability during a procedure.
- Minimized Movement –The INTREPID Balance Tip helps to minimize movement during incision improving the precision of the procedure.
The difference between good vision and great vision after cataract surgery can be attributed to the diagnostic technology used to calculate the appropriate IOL. The IOLMaster is a great advancement in IOL calculation. This technology provides our patients with the opportunity for the best possible visual outcome. In cataract surgery, or other lens-replacement procedures, vision is improved by replacing the eye’s natural lens with an intra-ocular lens (IOL). IOLs come in different powers and sizes to compensate for each patient’s individual needs. For best vision after cataract surgery, precise measurements must be taken to determine which IOL to implant. The IOLMaster is a high-precision instrument revolutionizing all previous techniques and setting a new standard for IOL calculations, called optical biometry.
Optical biometry using IOLMaster does not subject our patients to any discomfort. No local anesthesia is required and there is no risk associated with taking the measurements.
Why we’ve invested in the IOLMaster:
- AccuracyThe risk of confusing right and left eye measurements is eliminated with this technology. The IOLMaster automatically detects the right or left eye while taking the measurement.
- ComfortAxis length, corneal radii and anterior-chamber depth of the eye are measured with the IOLMaster. Three instruments integrated into one location provides our patients with a higher level of comfort.
- EfficientMeasuring the eye with the IOLMaster takes less time than using ultrasound, the traditional form of measurement that requires anesthesia.

Have questions? We’ve got answers.
Read some common questions about our new CataLāze™ system.
How common are cataracts?
Cataracts are very common. It’s estimated that at least 50% of Americans have cataracts by age 80.
How does the CataLāze™ Refractive Suite work?
ORA™ allows your surgeon to analyze your vision and tailor your treatment during the procedure. And with ORA™, measurements are taken after the clouded cataract is removed, when the surgeon has a clear view of your eye. Verion™ provides landmark-based image guidance to track eye movements and to provide a reference for all incisions and lens positioning. The LenSx® Laser makes blade-free, precise incisions to the cornea and lens capsule. The LenSx® Laser then breaks up the cataract at faster speeds than traditional methods, keeping inflammation to a minimum.
How will the CataLāze™ Refractive Suite enhance my premium cataract procedure?
The new ORA™ and Verion™ technologies revolutionize cataract surgery by allowing your surgeon to analyze your eye during your premium cataract procedure. By providing detailed measurements of your eye, this system helps your surgeon tailor treatment to your individual needs and provide more accurate and predictable refractive outcomes. The precise incisions made by the LenSx® Laser minimizes the risk of post-operative inflammation.
Does CataLāze™ track my eye movements during surgery?
Yes! The Verion™System allows the surgeon to track subtle eye movements throughout the cataract surgery using previously obtained images of your iris. This allows for proper incision location and ideal lens implant positioning.
How effective is CataLāze™ with ORA™, LenSx® Laser, and Verion™ guided cataract surgery?
Compared to traditional cataract procedures, ORA™, LenSx® Laser, and Verion™ guided cataract surgery is proven to significantly improve your visual outcome.
Will I feel anything while the ORA™ System measurements are being taken?
Anesthetic drops are used to numb your eye in order to ensure you are comfortable throughout your cataract procedure. The laser does not touch your eye at all, and all measurements are easily taken while you focus on a red flashing light.
Is ORA™, LenSx® Laser, and Verion™ guided cataract surgery safe?
Cataract surgery is one of the safest surgical procedures available, with 3 million surgeries performed in the United States alone each year. And by adding the CataLāze™ option to your premium cataract procedure, you’ll have the security of knowing you can receive the best possible outcome.
Does laser-guided cataract surgery take longer than regular cataract surgery?
The CataLāze™ option adds a small amount of additional time to your procedure, but the extra time is well worth it when considering the enhanced visual outcome it can provide you.
Will CataLāze™ surgery cost more?
The ORA™ and Verion™ Systems with the LenSx® Laser are part of a premium cataract surgery offering, which incorporates a premium replacement lens. While it is slightly more expensive than standard cataract surgery, the use of all these advanced technologies can help result in a better outcome and ensure you have great vision for life.
